In a unexpected partnership that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.

The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana together with several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps steed

This patch also introduces the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

Past Japanese Animation Collaborations

This represents not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime properties. The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that unmistakably referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
